Reciprocating Engine Governors

Attention to detail and strict adherence to meeting the specifications outlined in the component maintenance manuals are fundamental to quality governor overhaul. Our Head Governor Specialist has more than twenty years as a governor technician, with experience across an immense variety of manufacturers’ reciprocating governors. We’ve seen them all.

Governors are first disassembled, cleaned and inspected. Nuts, bolts, screws and gaskets are replaced as required, and major components are Liquid Penetrant Inspected (LPI) or Magnetic Particle Inspected (MPI) as required. Parts are painted or plated, and the reassembled governors are bench-tested – the testing machine is actually called a “Governmatic” – to ensure it passes recertification.
